Marcela Alonso is having her breakout moment.
The actress, creator, podcast host, and owner of Latina Productions has made her filmmaking debut with the compelling indie short film “On the Air with Ariel.” Alonso takes a bold step by uniquely blending talent from different entertainment sectors, pairing mainstream actors with performers from the adult entertainment world in this groundbreaking SAG-approved project.
Directed by Alexander Justin Gonzales and featuring standout performances by Ariel Demure and industry veteran Dorian Frankel, the short revolves around the fiery interactions between a spirited podcast host and her assertive producer. Alonso independently financed the production through her company Latina Productions, showcasing her unwavering dedication to authentic storytelling.
To elevate the film’s visibility, Alonso launched a GoFundMe campaign aimed at covering the extensive costs associated with global film festival submissions. She emphasizes that every donation directly contributes to gaining broader exposure for this innovative project.
“My goal is to open doors within SAG for performers from diverse backgrounds, providing real opportunities for crossover success,” says Alonso. “Addressing and dismantling stigmas surrounding sex work through thoughtful storytelling is central to my mission. Every donation helps amplify our message on a global stage.”
