From a humble background in Cremona, Italy, Matteo Della Putta was always drawn to the arts and had a heartfelt concern for humanitarian causes. A transformative encounter with a charismatic English teacher during his middle school years initiated him into a world beyond Italy, igniting a lasting passion for diverse languages, rich cultures, and the charm of traveling. Under the tutelage of this teacher, Matteo launched his linguistic journey in a specialized language high school, immersing himself in the profound beauty of English, French, and German languages and their captivating literature. Despite these linguistic pursuits, the desire for artistic self-expression remained a strong undercurrent in his dreams.
At just 16, Matteo took his first steps on the road to artistic realization by joining a local theatre group, “VarieAzioni,” in his hometown. Here, he began an exhilarating expedition into the universe of acting, making his debut in the ensemble of their inaugural production and progressively taking up more nuanced roles such as Haemon in the timeless Greek tragedy “Antigone.” This formative experience solidified Matteo’s fervor for acting, guiding him on the path to his creative objectives.

After completing high school, Matteo ventured to Los Angeles to study at the illustrious American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA), to advance his acting prowess. However, the unexpected emergence of the global pandemic forced him to suspend his studies and return to Italy. Displaying remarkable resilience and adaptability, Matteo used this interlude to enhance his artistic and personal development. He enrolled at the New York Film Academy (NYFA) in Florence, honing his acting skills for the camera, and dove deeper into the labyrinth of human behavior and emotions via an online psychology course.
In 2021, Matteo returned to Los Angeles with refreshed resolve to wrap up his degree at AADA. He achieved his graduation in May 2022, armed with a more refined skillset and an undying passion for his craft. Matteo wasted no time in marking his presence in the industry, securing principal roles in multiple short films, and earning his first stint in a feature film.
In the short film “Letargia,” Matteo bravely navigated the intricate theme of depression, powerfully encapsulating the inner strife of a character grappling with their mind. His stirring performance has attracted accolades, with the film being nominated for numerous festivals both in the US and worldwide. In “Unbearable,” Matteo sensitively brought to life a character suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result of a tormented past, highlighting the profound scars left by trauma. In the thrill-filled “The Elysian,” Matteo convincingly played a secretive killer, while his wide-ranging talent shone in “The Freaks,” blending his passions for acting and music. Lastly, his commitment and talent earned him a noteworthy role in the feature film “Arena,” where he took on the character of a professor unjustly deemed insane by society.
From his modest beginnings in Cremona to the dynamic scene of Hollywood, Matteo Della Putta has emerged as a promising talent in the cinematic landscape. His artistic journey continues to influence the global discourse on humanitarian issues, reinforcing the idea that the language of cinema, like his love for languages, defies boundaries.
