Connor Dean is an actor, podcast host, influencer, and tennis player in Los Angeles, California. As an actor, he had a breakout role in the Cool Cat Movies. His character Butch the Bully became a favorite among fans who created memes and fan accounts supporting the character. His newest foray is into the podcast world with not one but two podcasts. I was beyond thrilled when Connor took time away from recording and tennis training for this interview about his podcasts and his plans for the future.

  1. You have a new podcast that was just released called “Clowns “R” Us”. Tell us about that podcast.

Thank you for having me! “Clowns “R” Us is a horror podcast I do with my friend, Broadway actor Max Bartos who actually lives in New York! When I met Max we found we have a joint love of all things horror and decided to share our love with our fans. On the podcast we do deep dives into some of our favorite films as well as doing tier lists of movies. It’s a lot of fun for sure!

  1. You already have a podcast called “In or Out with Connor Dean” streaming on the BLEAV network. What made you decide to start another podcast?

I was actually approached by the BLEAV network to do a tennis podcast which is when I started “In or Out with Connor Dean”. In that podcast I talk tennis and pop culture, bringing on some of my friends too. I wanted to do a horror podcast because I absolutely loved the idea of working with Max and he matched my enthusiasm for all things horror!

  1. When did your love of horror films start?

I am not sure when my love for horror actually started. My aunt is a big fan of scary movies so I’m sure she encouraged us to watch those movies with her. The first time I saw the movie “Poltergeist” I was about 7 years old and my mom and my aunt took my brother and me to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery to watch it. My mom also took me to an actual beach to watch the movie “Jaws”. We were always doing crazy things like that when I was growing up!

  1. What is your favorite horror film of all time?

That’s a hard question. I think I have to say one of them is “Killer Clowns from Outerspace ”. That’s the movie that inspired the name of our podcast. I also can’t deny my love for the movie Scream since that was one of the first horror movies I had ever watched!

  1. Fun question- If you could be any horror film character who would you be and why?

If I could be any horror film character I have to pick Ghostface. Ghostface has always been a favorite of mine. My friend Chloe and I have a running joke about Ghostface because I wore that costume multiple times for Halloween.

  1. You are very busy between your acting roles, podcasts, and competitive tennis. What do you enjoy doing in your downtime?

I am pretty busy, but when I get the chance to unwind I love playing video games online with my friends. Sometimes we just all get together online and watch a movie too.

  1. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In five years I hope to have graduated from college. I am still trying to figure out my degree but I hope to start making more films, hopefully coaching some tennis, and still sharing my love of horror films in the podcast with Max. Maybe we will turn it into a show. You never know!

  1. Where can we follow you on social media?
