Some people have already an idea of what they want to do for the rest of their lives. While some make business or hobby out of this vision of themselves, others have also turned it into a career where they get to do what they love and enjoy the advantages of doing so.

For all-around performer Emilie Kirchgesner, her path in life came to her naturally.

At a young age, Emilie Kirchgesner already knows what she’s meant to do in life. Since she was three-years-old, she has already been acting, dancing, and singing.

“I’ve always enjoyed performing and inspiring others around me. Dancing was my escape from darkness–it helped me express myself in ways others didn’t understand. Singing and acting was something I knew I was meant to do. It came naturally to me at a young age,” she said.

Emilie grew up dancing competitively in every style and trained in several musical theatre intensives in New York and Los Angeles. She trained under numerous Broadway actors and choreographers.

She was very involved in the arts in high school while completing her Advanced Tap and Advanced 1 Ballet exams.

It’s because of this dedication to her craft that she was able to attend her dream school. After high school, Emilie moved from Saskatoon to Toronto to attend Randolph Academy and was able to perform at Canada’s Wonderland for two seasons.

Despite already living out her dream at a young age, Emilie recognizes the value of hard work and is engaging herself in projects that will improve herself and her career in the long-run.

“My goals for this year is finding myself in every situation, working towards being super successful, and working on getting out of my comfort zone,” she said. “I want to be perceived as a positive person who inspires those around me. People who look up to me as an all-around performer. I want to be the best version of myself as a creator.  Someone who isn’t afraid to be different.”

What She Learned So Far

As she continues to go further down her chosen career path, Emilie has also learned some valuable lessons that she follows by heart.

“The values I’ve learned on my journey thus far is staying humble no matter what. Treating everyone around you as an amazing human. I’ve always stood by spreading positive vibes around me instead of living in negativity. Life is too short,” the all-around performer said.

She added that in her career path, it’s important to stay true to who she is.

“People are going to hate or love you and it’s ok because you only need to please yourself! It’s ok to feel insecure, show who you truly are,” she said.
