We all have a hobby that has become a central part of our lives. These activities, sometimes physical or creative, help us develop significant parts of our personalities.

Yet when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, some people found it difficult to go back to the things they loved doing before.

One example is Cody Premer, who’s deeply passionate about tackle football.

“Football was a big part of my childhood, and followed me into high school. I played on the Venice High School Varsity team,” he shared.

During the past two years, when he was forced to stay indoors like the rest of the world, he developed a new interest to keep him busy–and sane.

Pursuing A New Path

“I am not the type of person to just sit around. It is physically impossible for me,” Cody lamented.

Yet, as the age-old adage goes, “When one door closes, another one opens.” Eventually, Cody discovered the benefits of social media and content creation. He started by making videos on TikTok.

Cody was 16 at the time, but he didn’t let his age get in the way of his newfound interest and ambition.

“When I decide on doing something, I am 100 percent committed,” he said, hinting that he also faced some challenges before he achieved his goals.

As a teenager, Cody had to learn how to balance the different aspects of his life, specifically school, other interests, and his time. Unfortunately, he had to let go of football, because of physical injuries and time management. Nonetheless, it allowed him to focus more on his studies and furthering his career as a content creator.

He decided to split his time between completing as many high school courses as possible and learning more about creating and publishing videos.

“I stuck with it, and now I am 18-years-old, completed all my high school requirements, and developed my social media platforms into a business with many opportunities,” he said.

How He Uses His Platforms

According to Cody, he leverages his social media platforms to market small business brands seeking support to get their names, products, or services to a broader audience.

The young content creator establishes a rapport by reaching out to clients and welcoming others who seek his service.

“My goal is to use my light-hearted, funny content to promote the brand and help them on my social media accounts,” he said.

His creative scripts obviously work as Cody amassed 1.2 million followers on TikTok.
