Q: It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give the people some info about you and your upbringing. How did you get to where you are today?

A: It’s a pleasure to share my story on such wonderful media platforms. My name is Taliban Stef and I’m a recording artist/ entrepreneur born in Chicago. Like the average kid in poverty, I was raised in a very traumatic atmosphere. I found the hectic conditions normal and amusing. Kids where I’m from don’t have many tools or options to climb out of that negative surrounding. It was play sports, be an entertainer or sell drugs. I turned to music to sort of balance things out. I struggled with verbally expressing myself and creating music made things smooth. I come from a big family where the men were good with their hands, and I didn’t fall too far from the tree. They’re some of the reasons I have businesses like a facility maintenance company, a car dealership, a real estate company, etc. I like to figure things out, so a lot of the things I do are self-taught

Q: That had to be pretty rough being surrounded by negative influences. How does this incorporate with your music?

A: I specialize in what I like to call “Reality Rap”. My lyrics are based on real life experiences and situations. I don’t glorify the street life, but a lot of my wisdom and experience comes from the streets. I have a story to tell and there are people who need to hear it to know they are not alone.

Q: I totally understand where you are coming from. It only makes sense and I hate to see artist being judged based on their lyrics. What else are you into, outside of being an Artist?

A: I have my hands in quite a few things. I run a Entertainment Management agency. We specialize in connecting indie artist with the big names of the industry and marketing. I have a facility maintenance company where I perform contract work for multi-million dollar companies. I also buy and sell property but those are a few things that I do

Q: Kudos sir. It sounds like you have your hands full juggling everything at once. It’s always good to see someone progressing in life. Anything you would like to include before we wrap this up?

A: Just a few words of encouragement, never stop what you desire. No one can be better than you when you are being yourself. Make sure to follow me on all social media platforms. Google “Taliban Stef” and everything will pop up. Peace and Love.
