Mila Nabours is a singer and songwriter in Los Angeles, California. She loves using her lyrics and melodies to tell stories and connect to her fans. Her latest single will be debuting at Milan Fashion week and will incorporate Italian in the song. I was able to interview Mila about her new single and her love of performing live.
Tell us about your upcoming single.
My upcoming single is going to be written for Milan fashion week! I’m going to be incorporating a small portion of Italian into it and I’m still in the works of figuring out the exact style, details, etc! I’m thinking of having it be melodic, but also upbeat.
What drew you to that song?
I wanted this song to match the kind of event I was going to be debuting it at, as well as incorporating some of the local language! I speak Spanish, so that gives me a bit of a head start for learning some Italian phrases.
Where did you find inspiration for your music?
My inspiration for my music comes from a variety of different artists that I look up to and listen to, but it also comes from my own personal style, which I am still discovering every day. I’d like to say I’m more of a storyteller when it comes to music, so in the future, I want to capitalize on that more and showcase more of my true self.
How do you prepare for live performances?
I prepare for live performances by keeping a good consistent routine in the days before. This consists of proper water intake, stamina preparation through cardio workouts, consistently training my voice, and getting enough rest.
What do you love about performing live?
I love the lively feeling I get the moment I get on stage. It’s such an exhilarating moment, and I love how freeing I feel on stage. The more I perform, the more comfortable I get, and I’m so grateful I get the opportunity to showcase my own original music in front of amazing audiences at high quality venues.
What do you hope people will take away after listening to your music?
I hope people connect with the genuine feel I try to present in my songs. I also hope my music brings a positive energy and vibe that they’d want to listen to again!
What other project do you have coming up?
I just got booked to film another episode of a web series I’m part of, so I’ll be shooting that for a few days in the next couple of weeks! I’ll be sharing more on my social media once it comes out.
