This scheme has already made significant progress, with 58 lakh pucca houses constructed in the PMAY Urban Sector and 2.52 crore pucca houses in the PMAY Rural Sector. Extension of Benefits The government has recently extended the validity of providing benefits under the PMAY scheme. Earlier, the benefits of PMAY-Shahri were fixed until March 31, 2022.

This means that eligible families in urban areas will now have more time to avail themselves of the CLSS for house construction under this scheme. Similarly, the validity of providing benefits under PMAY-Gramin was also fixed until March 31. However, the Union Cabinet has extended this until March 31, 2024, to meet the target of constructing 2.95 crore houses. Housing for All The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2023 is a crucial step towards Prime Minister Modi’s vision of providing own pucca houses to almost all the homeless, kutcha houses, slum-huts or roadside citizens of the country in the coming times.

Income category under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana List

Under the housing scheme, loans are given to three categories of people. This category is determined according to the annual income of the people. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, loans are given to people belonging to economically weaker sections, low income groups and middle income groups. Many times the question comes in people’s mind that in which category do we fall. So let’s know how much income people come in these classes.

Awas Yojana Income Categories: Which One Do You Fall Under?

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana provides loans to individuals belonging to three categories, determined by their annual income. It’s common for people to wonder which category they belong to, so here’s a breakdown of the income ranges for each category. The economically weaker section (EWS) category includes individuals with an annual income of up to Rs. 3 lakhs. The low-income group (LIG) category includes individuals with an annual income between Rs. 3 lakhs and Rs. 6 lakhs. Knowing which category you fall under is important because it determines your eligibility for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana scheme. If you meet the income requirements for any of the categories, you can apply for a loan to build or purchase a house at a subsidized interest rate.
