Roman Prokopchuk, host of the Digital Savage Experience Podcast and founder of Nova Zora Digital, and his wife Lindsay, recently celebrated the official adoption of their first child, Tyler, in March.

Roman’s Path to Becoming a Foster Father

Roman and Lindsay began their journey after experiencing six miscarriages in three years and spending over $100,000 out of pocket on infertility treatments. These heartbreaking events ultimately inspired them to become foster parents in 2018. Since then, they have provided a nurturing and secure home to 29 children over four years, at times caring for as many as five children under four years old.

Roman and Lindsay became Tyler’s foster parents when he was just two weeks old. Born prematurely and with drugs in his system, the hospital staff doubted he would survive the first week. Now officially part of their family, Tyler is a testament to the importance of providing safe, loving homes for children in the U.S. foster care system.

Championing Foster Care Reform

Roman is an advocate for foster care reform and uses his podcast, as well as interviews on other platforms and media outlets, to promote a comprehensive overhaul of the foster care system. He aims to educate the public about the realities of being a foster parent and addresses misconceptions about foster parents that often stem from negative news and media portrayals.

Roman is particularly vocal about the need for better therapeutic services during the reunification process when a foster child is preparing to return home. Through their experiences as foster parents, Roman and Lindsay have encountered both the best and worst aspects of the foster care system, and their primary focus remains on helping the children.

Roman’s Personal Background

Roman, a first-generation immigrant from Ukraine, came to the United States in 1990 with six family members to escape religious persecution. They settled in a small two-bedroom apartment, and Roman has since built a successful life for himself. Currently, five of his relatives are serving in the Ukrainian military amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, and one family member has lost their home in a missile strike. Roman interned for the Secret Service and held a top-secret security clearance before entering the digital marketing world following the 2008 recession. He founded Nova Zora Digital in 2012 and launched the Digital Savage Experience Podcast, which has ranked as a top 100 podcast in its category in over 20 countries.
