Lisa Benavidez is a SoCal mom, wife, and coach who is tired of watching people live mediocre lives.
So many women are “going through the motions,” yet they feel a sizzle inside—knowing that they were created for more, but they aren’t sure what to do about it.
Lisa says, “Too many people stay stuck in the same ‘ol, same ‘ol when they have a life on fire to live!”
In 2012, Lisa was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and everything in her life came to a screeching halt. From working events all over the country to simply taking her daughters to ballet class, she found herself physically and energetically unable to keep living the “superwoman” lifestyle.
With massive inflammation throughout her body, constant fatigue, and horrible pain in all her joints, she was barely able to dress her self.
Yet, even in this difficult life-changing circumstance, Lisa knew in her heart that this was a wake-up call from God.
She adds, “It just felt like I was an ordinary girl meant for extraordinary work in this world…even though I had absolutely no idea what it was. I had to keep praying for God to reveal the next step, show me the lesson, and guide me to whatever was next.”
This health crisis is what started her mission to find her purpose.
The next 10 years were full of two steps forward, one step back momentum.
One thing she has always held strong to is that RA will not take control because she still has a lot of life to live.
At first, it took a lot of support from loved ones and research to help her better understand how to manage and live with RA. After the first several months, she was able to ease back into life little by little—but with modifications. The self-love and awareness she learned allowed her to focus on pursuing the things that were actually important to her.
She adds, “This was an eye-opening experience. Seriously, I’m so grateful for all the lessons and ability to overcome so much. One thing I know for sure is that my mindset was 90% of the work! I would be nowhere if I didn’t have hope and belief in myself—and the possibilities for optimal health.”
While it took over 10 years to (mostly) figure it out, Lisa continued to lean into the unknown, trust God, and take action in her life.
Fast forward to today, her purpose has been revealed in big ways, and she spends her days changing lives.
With coffee in one hand and big ideas in the other, Lisa believes, “I know that my purpose in life is to inspire and equip women to show up for their lives to maximize their potential. There’s no room for excuses and fear when you’ve got big dreams!”
Through her podcast, “Created for More,” and coaching programs, Lisa helps women uncover the obstacles that hold them back, while teaching them to forge through the fire to ignite their lives.
