Working your way to the top doesn’t only come with opportunities and experiences to further your career or business. Most of the time, it also instills principles and values that are crucial to the development of a person.
For Alex T, more known for his on-air radio name Alex, there are three principles that allowed him to reach success as a DJ, broadcaster, and performer.
The first is setting a clear goal which helps him focus on what he has to do to become a better performer in the long-run.
Next, is to work hard as becoming a successful performer isn’t something that comes naturally while just sitting around. To become a recognized performer, Alex has to take on projects and gigs that he can both enjoy and further his career with.
Lastly, Alex remains kind to others along the way since success isn’t something that should change his personality and approach towards others. Remaining humble is one of the key values that many established personalities practice.
“If you nail these three things, there’s nothing you can’t achieve,” Alex said.
How to Become a DJ Like Alex
Both Alex’s dad and uncle were DJs. Later on, he realized that he had the same talent in his blood.
“I knew I’d always wanted to perform in front of crowds whether it be at parties, gigs, or thousands of people at a large-scale music festival,” Alex said.
At the age of 13, he borrowed some equipment and DJ’d his first-ever party which was full of 18-year-olds so it was intimidating, but he pulled it off. It led to an adrenaline rush which prompted him to want more. This led to more bookings and by the age of 16, I was DJing regularly in nightclubs and bars across Liverpool, England.
To those who want to become a DJ, Alex offers the following advice:
“The work of a DJ and performer is pretty wild, it can lead to some long days, even longer nights. But the most amazing memories come with it, so never give up. Keep focused on your goals, whether that’s working on a local radio station, just becoming a DJ for your friends’ parties, or even making a name for yourself as a world-famous record producer, it’s all possible.”

“Always be determined, don’t let anyone get in the way of your goals and aspirations. Always be kind along the way, as you never know who’s path will cross yours at a later date,” he said.
