My name is Chef Channing owner of Twinz Kitchen and being from Long Beach I saw many opportunities around me growing up. The thing is I didn’t believe I had access to them. I can remember waking up for 3 months back in early 2020 feeling like life had no purpose and I couldn’t figure it out, being that I’m a happy person by nature these feelings didn’t add up. I began to talk to God by fasting and praying. I soon received my answer from God and He said, “Cook for The People”!!! Not knowing what that was suppose to look like I began a journey of full filling the instructions that God had given me. I’m 2 in a half years into my own business and it’s been an amazing journey. It’s been full of frustration and challenges yet celebrations and life learned lessons soon followed. I’ve had to let go of fear and doubt so that I can overcome and be consistent and wholeheartedly believe what God told me to do!!! I’ve learned that if you can just believe God will do it for you, that He is with you always, nothing is impossible. Being in a position to help and bless others is a feeling I can’t began to describe. I love serving others and I’m looking forward to seeing more of what God has for me.
Ever since I was a kid, around 9 years old, I would sit on a step stool in my mother’s kitchen and assist her with cooking up our traditional holiday meals. Coming from a single parent home, times weren’t always easy. My mom inspired me with her creative way to take a pound of ground beef , canned veggies, some homemade gravy, and a pot of steamed rice and bring a simple meal together that created everlasting memories.
That is where my love for cooking started. Cooking is my purpose, cooking for me is to bring joy and happiness to the lives of those whom I serve. I would see the faces of our family members light up when they would taste the delicious food, it was then that I said to myself.. I’m going to make people feel like that every time I served them a meal. It’s the love and comfort that food bring to families that continues to inspire me to be creative and encourages me to mix some old family recipes with new and healthy ideas.
Twinz Kitchen is a All about Family, Good eating, and Giving back to the Community. Food is the soul of family!!! Food brings people together with the love that’s poured into it and it makes people feel good.
