Despite a slow start, with the U.S. trailing 11-1 midway through the first quarter, the team quickly found its rhythm. The Americans turned the game around by shooting 64.3% from the field in the remainder of the first half, leading 41-33 at halftime and extending their lead to 69-54 by the end of the third quarter. The second unit, featuring Anthony Davis, Bam Adebayo, Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, and Jayson Tatum, was particularly effective, each player achieving a plus-minus of plus-10 or better.

Team Chemistry and Adjustments

The exhibition highlighted areas where the team still needs to improve. There were several instances where miscommunication led to turnovers, as players are still getting accustomed to each other. Coach Steve Kerr’s initial starting lineup featured Stephen Curry, Jrue Holiday, Devin Booker, LeBron James, and Joel Embiid. While this lineup might evolve, it offers insights into Kerr’s current strategy and thinking.
