Dominique Cubas: A Music Industry Gem With Tremendous Potential

Published

on

Most successful artists within the music industry have one simple thing in common, their passion for music and the perseverance to succeed in the industry in the first place. While some artists may find success faster than others, the hard work and tremendous due diligence put into their creations can never be taken away from them.

Take Dominique Cubas for example, the self-taught 19 year old singer/songwriter out of Atlanta Georgia has been writing music since she was 12 years old while she was homeschooled. Dominique’s passion for music began at the age of 7 when she started taking piano lessons and singing in church choirs and talent shows.

When she began public schooling she lost passion for music, by the time she was in high school she decided to start taking her talent more seriously, working on her talent regularly until college, where she auditioned to join a travel singing group and was accepted. This fired up her passion for music and she started writing and recording her own music.

During the Novel CoronaVirus Pandemic, Cubas started curating what would become her first published song while on a gap year from college. Using her music as an outlet from a painful break up, she turned her emotions into the masterpiece we know today as, “Alone With You”.

This amazing artist is just breaking into the industry and has the talent and potential to rise to the top.

What Challenges Artist Da’wan Gold, AKA Goldenwhan, Overcame While Building His Brand

Published

on

The music industry is one of the most oversaturated sectors in the world. It’s no surprise that new artists experience trouble when starting and creating a name for themselves, among many others.

Da’wan Gold, aka Goldenwhan, knows how challenging it can be as a new artist, especially since he went through the same process himself.

Born in Boston and raised on a farm in Georgia, Da’wan is a songwriter, lyricist, poet, and producer. He decided to start a career in music after he exited army life which later gave him post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI).

As a way to cope, Da’wan turned to music where he channeled his experiences and hopes to teach others about how music can also be used as therapy. ..

Consistency Above Adversity

So far, in his career, the biggest challenge for Da’wan has been building momentum, consistency, and being taken seriously by others in the industry as well as his audience.

As a response, he has been working to overcome these pit stops by constantly recording music, working with other producers, and releasing content every month.

“I stand behind releasing my music and watching the process grow. One of the biggest accomplishments for me. I’m really happy about the journey I’m on,” he said.

He added that, as a war veteran, Da’wan is more focused on building a legacy rather than gain fame for his music.

Giving Others A Voice

It was through music that Da’wan found a way to cope with what he went through during his time in service. Now, he plans to be a source for information and serve as a voice for those who aren’t able to speak for themselves.

“My goal is to speak to as many people through music and art as well as show them that your trauma doesn’t define you. I’ve used my trauma to inspire others and create a new life. Which I didn’t think was possible at first,” he said.

Da’wan added that he’s been working positively to move forward and create light for others to follow. And to show that he’s willing to give people a voice, he also said that he’s open to collaborating with people who know what it’s like to be in a bad headspace.

“I remind my peers that we all have been in a rough place. I believe sometimes we just need to vent and be heard, that allows release and growth,” he said.

Santo 1Hunna: Connecticut Local Recording Artist Who Is Ready To Go Mainstream

Published

on

Andrew Vazquez better known as Santo 1Hunna has been doing music for quite some time. He knew music for what it is to be by seeing how much love his father had for music. Although his father was only in and

out of Santo’s life due to a drug addiction when his father was around, so was the music. His father was a freestyle artist and dj. So music had influenced him greatly. Santo 1Hunna is from Willinantic, CT he is 28 years young and was raised by a single mother alongside with his younger brother. If anyone knows something about hard work, dedication and going after their dreams it’s Santo 1Hunna.

Growing up Santo had to deal with a lot of obstacles and struggles. He was kind of a rebel growing up and got into some trouble down the line when he was just 16 years old. He found solace in writing poems and songs during those times and when he came back home he ended up changing his life and got right to work full time. Santo 1Hunna came up and made things right. He loved music and continued to keep his focus even when things weren’t looking the best and also losing his father. Rapping and creating music was always fun for him and a great escape.

It wasn’t until late 2020 wherenhe was introduced to an app called rapchat by one of his close friends and just started importing beats

and writing so much more everyday. The dedication was real! Santo’s brother was also doing his thing with music and had mentioned going to the studio and creating music there. From then on it was history. Santo 1Hunna was hooked and loved perfecting his craft at the studio.

As an artist it’s always hard to get where you want to be, but if you love what you do, you do what it takes and that’s exactly what he is doing. He has gained a great fan base since he has started dropping music on YouTube, Spotify and other platforms. If people weren’t listening before they’re definitely listening now. He is reaching many souls and opening quite a lot of eyes. His streams and followers grow daily. Locally people are hip to his music and jamming to his songs so whatever he is doing seems to be working.

Other artists from Connecticut want to work with him and producers have been reaching out. His music has even reached the ears in Italy! So much is to come from an artist this motivated and ready to work. He is planning on recording in Florida as well with some well

known engineers he has been connected with. Keep up with Santo 1Hunna he has so much in store and so much to show his audience. He will be dropping more singles and features.

He plans on releasing a mixtape or EP by fall and there’s hopes of a joint tape with his brother, so that’s going to be something to keep an eye out for. From growing up in a tough situation to being the creative and motivating man he is today he is definitely humbled but very hungry for success. He has learned to always take criticism whether it’s good or bad, take every failure as a lesson, and to always be humble but content with what he does. Santo is just like me and you, but he has the ambition to shine like other great artists. He wants anyone following in his path to have fun with it, enjoy it to the fullest, don’t get mad if things don’t happen the way you want it to, don’t be afraid to take risks and most importantly be yourself.

JUJU: An Undiscovered Gem

Published

on

If there is an undiscovered artist to get connected with, it’s JUJU. He is from Richmond, Virginia and was born in 1994. As a person and artist he prides himself in being genuine and entertaining. JUJU is quite an expressive soul and he loves to amaze his audience, as a child he loved the arts; he expresses himself through comedy, dance, painting and music which are all great escapes from reality for him. He lives to be his own person and won’t let anyone define him.

Society is always into labelingSomebody, especially people in the music industry, JUJU does not care what society labels him or about anyone’s opinion about him. He is a devoted artist and a genuine human being. JUJU says, “I just want to inspire before I expire”. His goal is to show people that they can make it through anything and they are not alone. He wants to inspire those who are going through dark times and that everything is not okay but that’s okay and we can all make it to the top. His energy is definitely unmatched.

Music has always been around him but he was introduced to the music industry while acting in the “Migos” commando video. Just being in the rap group’s presence and having that experience opened JUJU’s eyes, so he knew if they can do this, so could he. That experience definitely provided him with insight on where he could be by doing music. JUJU’s music is quite different but has also gotten feedback that he has a Post Malone and XXXtentacion vibe. He’s learned a lot from his journey and one of those lessons is to not trust no one and to just do it yourself so the only person you can blame for failure is yourself and you won’t get played in the

game. He has also learned to remain humble and to stay true to himself; no one is number one or better than God he says, “pride comes before the fall”.

Right now he is focused on dropping singles and marketing them one at a time. He says, “as an artist I feel like if you just focus on promoting one song until it gets traction, then just move on to the next”. One of his goals for this year is to be picked by a label but not as a rapper or singer but as a writer.

Check out JUJU’s music and follow him on social media!
