Dar.Ra’s latest release, Blood and Treasure EP, will be released later this year on the Kusha Deep Music label, but we were fortunate enough to get a sneak peek this week. The project is a captivating musical journey that blends elements of electronic, rock, disco, punk, and almost every other genre you could point a big stick at.

The EP showcases Dar.Ra’s unique artistic style combining dark and moody undertones with catchy melodies and thought-provoking lyrics.

One of the standout tracks on the EP is “No Time For Tears.” The song’s pulsating drums and Dar.Ra’s emotive vocals immediately draw listeners in, creating an atmosphere of mystery and intrigue. The lyrics delve into the complexities of human nature, exploring themes of resilience and never giving up no matter what obstacles are placed in front of you, and recognising that the final decision is really up to us.

‘Hold tight to the moment, we don’t know what’s coming down the line.

Its over when we choose it to be,this is no time for tears.’

There is definitely an anthemic quality as the song slowly builds for the first 5:25 or so and then widens drastically with additional keyboards and horns adding a nice touch. “No Time For Tears” truly deserves the title “epic” as it covers so much ground in a little over 7 minutes. Equal parts U2, Bruce Springsteen and Sigur Ros.

The “No Time For Tears – Tsar Remix” adds lush strings over a gentle piano, bringing a very cinematic flair to the track. Driving production elements and some aggressive editing cuts several minutes from the original radio version and yet the Tsar Remix retains the positive message from the original, just in some different wrapping.

“Cure For Jealousy” splashes you in the face like some refreshing cool water as we’re suddenly in the middle of a discoteque. The song’s driving beats, thumping bass and pulsing synths create a sense of urgency and excitement. The combination of Dar.Ra’s powerful vocals and the rich production creates a captivating listening experience that has DNA in music from almost ever decade going back to the 70’s! “Cure For Jealousy” would feel right at home as a Depeche Mode recording, whether it’s from the 80s or today.

There is also a banging remix from Sri Lankan based Music Producer Viduala who also did one of the mos outstanding remixes we’ve ever heard on another track by Dar.Ra called ‘The Lights’ which features on the ‘New Kinda Normal’ album released by the Kusha Deep Record label, one of the finest British albums made in the past 20 years and well worth exploring if you haven’t already.

The ‘Blood and Treasure’ EP is a compelling release that pays homage to the iconic sounds of the past while showcasing Dar.Ra’s unique artist vision and let us reassure you, he is certainly looking forward towards a brighter future!

It’s already gaining great support from the global music media who are giving it 5-star reviews from Europe to South America. When people moan about the current state of Music releases let this EP ‘Blood N Treasure’ be the counter argument.

Dar.Ra also has two crucially acclaimed books out on Amazon under his full moniker Darragh J Brady ‘Road Tales’ and ‘The Night That Jimi Died’ both hold 5 star reviews and need to be read to tick the bucket read list.
